One year on after the Management Committee took the decision
that all Regional Coaches and YDO’s as a minimum should
be CRB checked, the EPA is pleased to announce that it now
has 8 Regional Officers screened. These are from Anglia,
Cornwall, East Midlands, Isle of Wight, Kent, Northern and
West Midlands Regions. The 4 National Officers - Umpire,
Coach, YDO and Director of Playing have also all been screened
and cleared. Kent and Southern Counties have also asked for,
and work has progressed, on screening all coaches. Kent currently
have an additional 5 coaches cleared and Southern have 3.

The English Pétanque Association is delighted to announce that in the all English final of the BPF International Qualifier (top 8) on Saturday 6th May between Jenny Cooter, Kim Lachani and Sarah Elliott and Vanessa (Nessy) Webb, Kath Lewis, Angie Jamieson and Diz Murray that the winners were
Vanessa, Kath, Angie and Diz.

The EPA is pleased to announce that the winners and runners up of last year's English Triples have been invited to take part in a weekend festival of petanque at the La Tamarissiere Club in AGDE, France. We wish the triples of Kevin Spillet, Pat Dennis, Nic Baxter and David Kimpton, Dave Hancox, Jerome Rousseau the best of luck.
The 2006 English Triples winners will be invited to the US
Dunkerque Petanque Club, who are celebrating their 50th Anniversary.
This will take place on the weekend of the 19th August 2006.
Further details will be sent to the winners in due course.

The EPA have now received the first batch of CRB Screening forms. Initially these will be for each Regional YDO and Regional Coach and these checks will be paid for by the EPA. Additional checks can be purchased for each region by writing to the National Secretary. Instructions on what to do will be sent to Regional Secretaries and Presidents.
