Coaching

Coaching Forum

This year’s Coaching Forum (formerly Coaching Commission) meeting will take place on Saturday 7th October 2006 at the EPA Meeting Room, Unit 24, Building 9, Coventry Enterprise Centre, Bilton Industrial Estate, Coventry, CV3 1JL.  The meeting will commence at 10:30 am.

Each region is invited to send one representative, preferably your Regional Coach or Coaching Co-ordinator, to attend the meeting.  If, however, there are additional qualified coaches in your region that wish to attend this meeting, then I would be grateful if you could let me know and I will do my up most to accommodate them, although space is somewhat limited.

Tea & Coffee will be provided, however attendees are required to bring their own lunch as there are no eating facilities on site.

If you have any other agenda items then please let me know and I will revise the agenda accordingly.  I would be grateful if you could confirm who will be attending to represent your region so that I can fully utilise the number of seat available for the meeting.

Junior Weekend of Excellence

The Junior Weekend has been arranged for the weekend of November 19th and 20th.  Any Grade 2 Coaches that would like to be involved with this weekend should let me know and I will try and accommodate these requests subject to all Coaches having been CRB Checked by November.

Grade 3 Coaching Course

Information on this course is now available here.

Coaching Licence

The transition from BPA to EPA will see the introduction of an EPA Coaching Licence.  To obtain a coaching licence all existing coaches will require CRB checking before a licence is issued to an individual.

The licence will show the Coach’s membership details and their photo, along with a statement confirming that they have been CRB checked.  This can then be used as a coaching ID card when working with schools or vulnerable adults. A licence issued after CRB checking has been completed will be valid for three years. At the end of the 3 years evidence that coaches are still active will be required to maintain your coaching status.  To aid this evidence a coaching report form will be issued with a licence so that coaching undertaken can be logged and checked from time to time by Regional Coaches.

Details of CRB vetted Coaches (names, region and grade) will appear on this page shortly. Details of other coaches not yet CRB checked will also appear so that anyone who is qualified that does not appear on the list can contact me to give me details of the qualification they hold and to ensure they are captured before I remove non-active coaches.

CRB Checking

With regards to the cost of the CRB checks, Regional Coaches will be paid for by the EPA. All other coaches will need to be paid for by Regions or by themselves.
